Zoom-style... WhatsApp offers two new features

Meta, through its CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, announced in a Facebook post that WhatsApp has introduced two new features, one that makes it easier for users to join one-click audio and video calls on the phone screen, and another that allows them to join group video calls with up to 32 people instead of 8.

Starting this week, WhatsApp users will be able to click on the "Contact Links" option under the "Calls" tab and create a link to voice or video calls to send to friends or family and can enter into a group call with each other.

The other feature of the video conference call with up to 32 people, after only 8, is being tested. Zuckerberg says that once video calls are made available to 32 people, the user will be able to speak to a large group of family members, friends, or co-workers without any time limits.

As part of WhatsApp's launch of the two new features, social media experts say they are now important "after experience in the post-coronavirus world has demonstrated the importance of conference chat rooms and video calls, with social distancing experienced by all people in the world, where both these features and the apps they offer have increased in a manner consistent with the user's needs and aspirations."

"Having your competitors in the tech market for successful experiences made by others is one of the advantages of all social media apps in order to maintain their user base and earn more users, thereby increasing profits, which is certainly what a company has sought. Meta has been a great success in apps such as Google Met and Zoom for WhatsApp.
