For the second time. Verstappen Formula 1 World Champion

Netherlands' Max Verstappen won the Japan Grand Prix with Red Bull on Sunday, interrupted for more than two hours by rain, to be crowned the second Formula 1 Motor Racing World Championship, thanks to a long sentence for Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.

Ferrari's Charles Leclerc was second to Red Bull's Sergio Perez.

But Leclerc made a mistake on the last lap and went off the track to gain a survival advantage against Perez.

Initially, observers announced that the incident had been considered before deciding to investigate it.

Moments later Leclerc was punished with five seconds to lose second place to Perez, a result that was enough to culminate Verstappen.

The following minutes saw severe confusion as Verstappen's coronation was announced before officials returned to inform him that this was a mistake due to only 50% of Japan's total race laps being completed, which meant drivers did not get full points.

However, observers indicated that the race did not stop at the end, which meant that drivers were entitled to total points to be crowned Dutch drivers.

The race began at 5 a.m. GMT before being stopped on lap one for more than two hours due to heavy rain.
